Erica lusitanica originates in southwest France, Spain and Portugal. These tree heaths need acid soil. They are quite drought tolerant. They have naturalized in Northern California along the freeways and are successfully competing with the dreaded Scotch Broom.
Zone 7 (0 degrees) and warmer. Take off heavy snow loads to avoid breakage. |
