Erica scoparia ssp. scoparia is native to central and southern France, the Iberian peninsula, Corsica, Sardinia and north Africa.  They require acid soil.  They have tiny brownish green flowers in late spring and early summer and have clouds of pollen for such tiny flowers.  A collector’s item and very rare.
