Erica x griffithsii are hybrids that tend to have the vigor of E. manipuliflora and the compactness and early flowering of E. vagans. They seem to be able to grow well even in alkaline soil. A few in this group used to be in the Erica manipuliflora group but have since been found to be hybrids. So, if you used to know them as E. manipuliflora, that is the reason for the change.
Hardy to at least Zone 6 (-10 degrees) and warmer. |
