Pink red flowers on dark green foliage that resembles fir needles. Stiff habit about 6” x 12” wide. Very rare alpine from seed collected at Artist’s Point at Mt Baker in Washington State. Hardy, but needs protection from the afternoon sun in summer. If the roots get too hot, they die. Need good drainage and acid soil. Can be a fussy plant which is typical of alpines. We have found them easy to grow in pots in partial shade. |
