Purplish flowers on glabrous green foliage that resembles fir needles. Stiff habit about 6” x 10” wide. Very rare alpine. Hardy, but needs protection from the afternoon sun in summer. If the roots get too hot, they die. Need good drainage and acid soil. Can be a fussy plant which is typical of alpines. We have found them easy to grow in pots in partial shade. |
